Play in a Week

Developing Young People's Play-Making Abilities . . .

What happens when the kids the write the play? And when their rehearsal space is 42 acres of brook and forest? Come join us for our Play-in-a-Week program.

Actors in Piti Youth Theatre programs learn:

  • acting
  • improvisation
  • play-making
  • design

And develop:

  • trust
  • confidence
  • teamwork
  • creativity!

Week One: July 13 - 18 (Creation of a dinosaur / science / fossil themed performance for the Great Greenfield DinoFest on Saturday, July 18)

Week Two: July 20 - 25 (Creation of a new play, subject to be determined, for performance at the Bloom Center on Saturday, July 25)

 Basics

  • This program is open to children and teens ages 8 - 18. 
  • Older teens with theatre experience can become Assistant Directors.

Schedule

10:00 - 10:30: Drop off / free time

10:30 - 12:30: Rehearsal

Friday is "tech day" where actors will bring their lunch and continue preparing in the afternoon.

Saturday will be a morning final rehearsal and late morning performance.

Program Cost:

We are happy to be able to offer a sliding scale for this program. 100% rate is $300/week or $550 for both weeks.

Based on your family's needs, you can choose from the following pay structure (example using one week):

  • 50% at $150
  • 75% at $225
  • 100% at $300

Note: Piti Theatre is committed to offering programs for families regardless of their ability to pay. Contact us about scholarship or barter options. Families able to pay full price make it possible for more children to attend.
