Broiler Queen Auditions in Belfast, ME

United Farmers Market and Piti Theatre seeking actors and production crew for “The Broiler Queen”, a new mid-coast comedy

Set in the mid 1980’s, The Broiler Queen is a tale of star crossed love between Chip, the son of a wealthy Camden family and Sherry, the daughter of a working class family from Belfast. The full production, planned for summer 2019, will feature a wedding reception and dinner for the audience. Piti Theatre and UFM are seeking five non-equity actors ages 20 – 70 to perform in a staged reading on Sunday, December 30th, 18 Spring Street, Belfast ME. Auditions will be held at UFM on Sunday, December 9th from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm and 5:30 – 7:30 pm in 15 minute slots. SIGN UP HERE

Helen Stevens, Chip’s mother, 40’s, not a hair out of place

Mike Hager, Sherry’s father, 40’s, works at Prime Portions Poultry in downtown Belfast.

Rosanna, Sherry’s Best Friend, cosmetologist and caterer, 20’s

Actors will be asked to read scenes from the play. Please bring or email a picture/resume if available. There is a $75 stipend for participation in the rehearsal/performance of this staged reading. Estimated 4 – 8 rehearsals.
