Time Flood is our brand new "River Play" that premiered at Shelburne Falls' Riverfest in June, 2010 following development in a residency at R.K. Finn Ryan Road Elementary School. This companion piece to Salmon Falls begins with a present day "flash flood" and takes students on watery journey through the Connecticut River watershed's past with stops at the first stocking of rainbow trout in the Deerfield River, a Northampton silk mill, a Native American village, the long walks of paleo-americans on the Mohawk Trail and culminates in the Big Bang - in reverse. It can be performed alone or alongside Salmon Falls.

FOR
SCHOOLS
School performances of Salmon Falls and Time Flood are a highly engaging way of making social and life science come alive. It can work like this:
Step 1: A one hour workshop with 15 - 17 3rd graders who become actors in the show.
Step 2: The whole school comes in and enjoys/learns from the 30 minute performance.
"Our students and staff very much enjoyed Piti Theatre's "Salmon Falls." The group's inclusion of our own students into the performance is a very effective technique. Our students in the audience are especially attentive as they watch their classmates perform, and the performers bring back even more learning to the class as a follow-up. Our teachers noticed so many connections to our science, social studies and, of course, ELA state curriculum frameworks. What an enjoyable way for us all to learn."
- Margaret Riddle, Principal, R.K. Finn Ryan Road Elementary School, Florence, MA
"Thanks for coming and working with my class. It was a great follow-up to our salmon project. The class really enjoyed it. You and Jody and the class did a really great job."
- Robbie Milner, 2nd grade teacher, Buckland Shelburne Elementary School
PRESS/TESTIMONIALS
"The town of Amherst has been extremely fortunate to enjoy the talents of the Piti Theatre Company at some of our town sponsored festivals over the past few years . . . We considered [their] productions a major part of our environmental festivals . . . the group [is a] valuable asset to the Pioneer Valley community."
- Stephanie Ciccarello, Wetlands Administrator/Energy Task Force Coordinator, Town of Amherst, MA
"Young, talented, happy, passionate and funny . . . Piti may also be one of the most fun companies around . . . Their most recent production was "Salmon Falls," which premiered at Shelburne Falls' Riverfest in June. Reflecting Riverfests' theme of the past, present and future of the Deerfield River, it uses movement, song and storytelling to trace the geology and history of the river from the Big Bang to the present."
- Tinky Weisblat, "Spreading Happiness," Greenfield Recorder
"I saw the Piti Theatre Company's production of Salmon Falls at Riverfest 2009 in Shelburne Falls. I was greatly impressed with the content of the play and the way the company was able to get the children, some of whom had not practiced this before, to act out the history and functions of the river. I know that these children understood what they were portraying and that the experience will stick with them for many years. I think it was understandable to the spectators also. In one word, it was perfect."
- Polly Bartlett, Board of Directors, Deerfield River Watershed Association
“I have been impressed with the ambition and artistic integrity of their performances . . .”
-Leo Hwang-Carlos, Associate Dean of Humanites, Greenfield Community College
